Hungarians to work three Saturdays in 2019, in exchange for longer hols
There will be three "working Saturdays" - Saturdays that replace a working day falling between a regular holiday and a weekend - next year, according to a decree published by the Ministry of Finance in the latest issue of the official gazette Magyar Közlöny.
The Saturday working days, falling on August 10, December 7 and December 14, 2019, will compensate for extra rest days before the August 20 national holiday, as well as both before and after the two-day Christmas holiday on December 25-26.
Many Hungarians take a day of vacation on working Saturdays, which can impact macroeconomic data such as industrial output, state news agency MTI noted.
