Health care heading for financial crisis

Sights

Hospitals will lose Ft 70 billion of their 2006 budget on inpatient medical services due to recent changes in financing regulations according to István Golub, chairman of the Hospital Association. The above calculation contains Ft 30 billion by which the resources of medical institutions may be further eroded due to regulation changes effected July 2006. This further 10-20% cut on the health budget and the parallel increase of costs from rising energy prices will result in a financial crisis that more than 50% of health care facilities are already facing.
