GP’s administration takes longer than the visit

General practitioners must submit much more work data to the National Health Fund (OEP) from September to demonstrate the quality of their work, state secretary of the Health Ministry Ágnes Horváth said. Doctors must provide OEP with data about patient visits, the diagnoses set up at these visits as well as medicines prescribed and any specialist examinations patients were sent to. The new regulation was originally meant to become effective from March 1, but was postponed due to the strong protest of GPs referring to the enormous administrative duties caused by the order. GPs are estimated to receive a total of 50 million patient visits annually. (Magyar Hírlap)
