Forint strengthens on interbank market

The forint strengthened on Wednesday morning's interbank market, trading at 274.91 to the euro at 10:25 a.m., compared to a rate of 277.68 at around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

The forint also strengthened to the Swiss franc and the US dollar on Wednesday morning, trading at 227.92 to the CHF and 195.48 to the USD at 10:25 a.m., compared to rates of 230.81 and 198.15, respectively, at around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

The forint strengthened to around 230 to the Swiss franc on Tuesday from a rate of around 250 on Monday evening after the Swiss National Bank set an exchange-rate target of CHF 1.20 to the euro.
