Finalists announced for design of new Museum of Ethnography
The list of architectural firms that will submit designs for the construction of the capital’s Museum of Ethnography have been whittled down to the final 15, among them Hungarian and international firms, including renowned architect Zaha Hadid, according to a press release issued by Liget Budapest yesterday.

The tender was launched by Városliget Zrt. in December of last year for the construction of the museum that will be part of the controversial Liget Project, which includes a cluster of museums and other civic buildings to be built in the City Park, with an expected completion date of 2019.
The 15 finalists include: Zaha Hadid, Gmp Architekten, Architecture Studio, MVRDV, BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group, Bernard Tschumi Architects, Dominique Perrault Architecture, Sauerbruch Hutton, Coop Himmelb(l)au Architects, Emre Arolat Architects, OMA, Közti Zrt., Mihály Balázs and the BME faculty of architecture, Napur Architect, as well as Bánáti + Hartvig Építész Iroda.
Final proposals for the tender will be completed by May.
