Fate of Rubik’s Cube science center unclear

Despite the Hungarian government appropriating HUF 1.1 billion to establish the Rubik Science Center due to have started last year, construction has not yet begun, according to Hungarian daily Magyar Nemzet.
The center which was designed in the shape of a Rubikʼs cube is to contain a museum which showcases Hungary’s intellectual achievements. The news of its planned construction was first reported in 2012, with construction to take place between 2014 and 2017, hvg.hu reported.
However, the final architectural design and floor plan are still unconfirmed, as well as its anticipated location. Currently expected to be built in the Lágymányos area of Budapest’s District XI, Népszabadság says it could be relocated to a different site.
