The project will involve the refurbishment of 68 guest rooms on the sixth and seventh floors, to be decorated with a special blue cornflower-patterned ceramic glass interior. Furthermore, both Platán Restaurant and the first floorʼs medical lounge will be renovated.
The largest lecture hall of the building, the Star Auditorium with its 260 seats will also be remodeled. According to plans, it will be fitted with the latest event technology equipment, while its walls will be reshaped from curved to rectangular, in order to achieve better acoustics. The interior designs were made by Sütő Interior Architects.
DVM is already familiar with the building, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal, as the company has renovated almost 170 rooms from the first to the fifth floor in multiple phases in the last five years. DMVʼs most recent contribution was the reconstruction of the hotelʼs lobby, conference rooms, and medical reception.
The demolition works started in December 2018, with the construction expected to be completed this spring.
