The City of Budapest will repave 200 kilometers of roads next year, with a budget of Ft 11.8 billion from the local council and Ft 9.3 billion from the central government, Mayor Gábor Demszky announced on Friday. Demszky conceded that the amount of central budget funding for next year's road repaving is still unsure. This year the city planned to repave 80 kilometers of roads, or 8% of the total. In 2007, the city plans to repave 135 kilometers of roads, bringing the length of roads repaved in the capital in three years to 43% of the total.
