Multiple unexploded ordnance has been unearthed during the construction of a sports center in the area. Bomb disposal experts have ordered the area to be closed from 8 a.m. on April 10. Affected tenants will be able to return to their homes later that afternoon, according to expectations. Hundreds of homes will be affected, as well as nearby office buildings, hotels, and hospitality units.
During the extraction, the MOM Cultural Center (1124 Budapest, Csörsz u. 18) will function as a temporary shelter. Entry will require identification, and the evacuated area will be protected by the police. Entry to the closed area will be strictly forbidden until the process is concluded.
Public transport in the area is expected to be affected during the operation. Residents or those planning to travel through the area are advised to watch news reports for updates, or check the website of the Center for Budapest Transport (BKK).
