The Association’s award is presented after judges evaluate the level of operations, market share and growth of market share, guest satisfaction, quality control, staff training, employee satisfaction and social corporate responsibility. The competition was launched in cooperation with Hungarian Tourism Ltd. three years ago.

Throughout the year, members of the jury conducted mystery visits to the 21 five-, four- and three-star hotels, paying special attention to the demonstration of passion for and commitment to providing outstanding service, a pleasant ambiance and a memorable experience for guests.

“This is a great honor, which reconfirms the excellent results of last year, not only in performance and financially but also in terms of our re-positioning and positive guest perception. Likewise, in reference to our innovative marketing, as well as social media communication,” said the General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest, Stephan Interthal.

The award ceremony was held in the ballroom of the Budapest Hilton on January 22, 2016, hosting some 250 guests from the travel industry, the government, the tourism board and the media, as well as the sponsors. The awards were presented by István Lepsényi, minister of state for economic development and regulation, Susanne Kraus-Winkler, president of HOTREC, Tamás Glázer, deputy CEO for tourism at Magyar Turizmus Zrt., and Dr. Ákos Niklai, president of the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association.
