Occupancy at Hungary's selected three to five star hotels averaged 60.8% in January-September, 1.3 percentage point less than in the same period a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Monday.

The net average room rate was Ft 14,989 (€54.7) during the period. Gross revenue per available room (RevPAR) was Ft 10,538, up 11.8% year on year, and net RevPAR was Ft 9,117 in January-September 2006. Occupancy rates were the highest at four- and five-star hotels in Budapest, 69.6% and 71.4%, respectively, and lowest at four-and five-star hotels in the east of the country (45.1%) and west Hungary (50.2%).
KSH compiled the figures based on a survey of all four- and five-star hotels and a selection of three-star hotels.
