Occupancy at Hungary's selected three-to-five star hotels averaged 61.3% in January-October, 1.2 percentage point less than in the same period a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Wednesday.

The net average room rate was Ft 14,959 (€57.5) during the period. Gross revenue per available room (RevPAR) was Ft 10,639, up 17% year-on-year, and net RevPAR was Ft 9,168 in January-October 2006. Occupancy rates were the highest at five- and four-start hotels in Budapest, 71.9% and 70.2%, respectively, and lowest at four-and five-start hotels in the east of the country (46.1%) and western Hungary (50.1%). KSH compiled the figures based on a survey of all four- and five-star hotels and a selection of three-star hotels. (Mti-Eco)
