Hotel Europa Fit, located in the spa town of Hévíz, southwestern Hungary, inaugurated a renovation project on Friday valued at almost HUF 500 mln, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
The hotel was awarded a HUF 160 mln grant from the European Union for the project. In a little over a year, all of the bathrooms and bathing areas were refurbished in the 234-room hotel, said hotel manager László Konyid.
During the 2007-2013 European Union funding period, 13 investment projects supporting tourism, with a combined value of almost HUF 4 bln, were completed in Hévíz, deputy state secretary for tourism Ádám Ruszinkó said at the inauguration. Hévíz is home to one of the largest thermal lakes in the world.
