easyHotel to open in Austria

Hotels

easyHotel.com, the super-budget hotel pioneers, continues to consolidate its plans to become Europe’s leading ‘super budget’ hotel operator following the signing of a Master Franchise Agreement with P_Orange GmbH.

The agreement will see the brand opening a minimum of three hotels across Austria over the next four years. Additionally, P_Orange GmbH will develop further opportunities in Central Europe which, should see them operate a further six easyHotel’s. The Austrian franchise comes just four months after signing a master franchise agreement to open 10 hotels in Germany and is seen as a natural progression from that deal.

The agreement is the latest in a series, currently under negotiation, which will see easyHotel.com operating in key European city destinations as part of its strategy to sign up 60 hotels in the next three years. Stelios, the serial entrepreneur and Chairman of easyHotel says, “easyHotel is all about low cost and efficiency and offers our guests clean, safe, en-suite bedrooms in urban locations. Signing this deal is a significant move for easyHotel and consolidates our position in Central Europe. We believe that this is an area that offers a huge opportunity for growth and we are delighted to be not only at the forefront of the super-budget revolution but working with partners who have a wealth of knowledge about the Austrian market.”

Talking about the development plans Michaela Reitterer and Ewald Weizenbauer, Partners of P_Orange GmbH say, “We are delighted to announce this agreement with easyHotel and our aim is to open at least 3 hotels across Austria by 2011, in addition to which we are looking at other opportunities across Central Europe. This is a particularly exciting time for us and, with the success easyHotel has enjoyed so far, we are looking forward to working with them to meet the rise in demand for good quality, consistent, value for money hotel accommodation” Relying entirely on web bookings to generate sales, easyHotel already operates hotels in 3 London locations (Victoria, South Kensington and Earl’s Court), as well as Basel and Budapest. easyHotel Zurich will open in November this year, followed by easyHotel Luton and easyHotel London Heathrow in early 2008.
