Budapest hotel exits Best Western hotel chain
Grand Hotel Hungaria, located near Budapestʼs Keleti Railway Station, has changed its name to Hotel Hungaria City Center as of January, after terminating its contract with the Best Western Hotel chain, Danubius Hotels told Hungarian news agency MTI yesterday.
The hotel, which was part of the Best Western chain for 25 years, will continue to operate as a member of the Danubius Hotels chain and is also in the process of being renovated.
Monika Fodor-Kassai, Danubiusʼ PR manager, told MTI that the hotelʼs 136 rooms - almost one-third of all rooms - will be renovated at a cost of more than HUF 1 million per room.
