According to a recent agreement, BDPST Group is set to entrust IHG Hotels & Resorts with the full operation of the D8 Hotel in Budapest under the voco brand, and has signed a franchise dealwith the Vignette Collection for its newest hotel development, Verno House. The two hotels will remain under the ownership of BDPST Group, and the group will continue to operate Verno House.

The D8 Hotel, located next to Vörösmarty Square, will operate under a management contract, bearing the name voco Budapest. In order to ensure that the hotel is fully in line with the brand image, further improvements will be made to the hotel over the next year, but the work will not affect the hotel's operations and it will remain open.

The Verno House, which opened on December 15, will join IHG Hotels & Resorts, Vignette Collection member hotels, under a franchise agreement until mid-2023. The membership will give Verno House a presence on the group's website and will also allow guests to make reservations through the website. Verno House will continue to be owned and operated by BDPST Group and there will be no changes to the day-to-day operations of the hotel, which will operate under the BOTANIQ Collection brand.

"Among the business ambitions of our group of companies, an important objective is to broaden the domestic accommodation offer in a way that creates real value for the whole sector. We are also honored to have been chosen by one of the world's most prestigious hotel companies in recognition of our professional and business excellence," said István Tiborcz, owner of BDPST Group.

"The invitation of voco and Vignette Collection hotel brands to Hungary is an important milestone on this path, as it marks the entry of two renowned brands into the Hungarian tourism sector, which in themselves will raise the profile of the Hungarian market," he added.

Commenting on the contracts, Willemijn Geels, VP European Development, IHG Hotels & Resorts, noted that the company is looking forward to working closely with BDPST Group to place both brands at the forefront of Budapest's hotel scene.
