The “Utazás 2016” travel show, featuring 350 exhibitors from 28 countries, opened at the Hungexpo Budapest Fair Center today, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

The professional guest of honour at the event is China, the cultural guest of honour is Brazil and the Hungarian guest of honour is Budapest, said Hungexpo CEO Gábor Ganczer.

National Economy Minister Mihály Varga, speaking at the opening, said Hungaryʼs “world class” tourism sector had improved according to all indicators last year.

Varga said tourism professionals are now looking at the possibility of setting up a national tourism agency. A final decision on the matter has not yet been made, he added.

The Utazás travel show runs until Sunday.
