Insurer Generali’s preliminary estimates expect damage claims to reach HUF 300 mln, insurer Aegon expects to receive claims valued at almost HUF 100 mln, while Allianz said it could pay out more than HUF 60 mln.

Streets and buildings around Budapest were filled with water due to flooding caused by a huge hail storm late Tuesday. Power outages were widespread, and people in various locations were trapped and had to be rescued by firefighters, according to reports.
