MTK soccer stadium to cost HUF 6.31 bln
A consortium of construction companies, consisting of ZAEV Építőipari and West Hungária Bau, was awarded a tender to construct a soccer stadium for Hungarian soccer club MTK in Budapest, chairman of the club and ruling Fidesz MEP Tamás Deutsch announced today, according to Hungarian online daily index.hu.
The construction of the stadium, which has a capacity of 5,322, will cost HUF 6.31 bln and is scheduled to be completed by August 31, 2016 at the latest, 30 days earlier than the deadline stipulated in the tender.
Deutsch said that the MTK soccer club hopes to reach an 80-90% occupancy rate if it is to consider the project a success, however, according to statistics published by magyarfutball.hu, the average number of supporters attending home matches this season was 936 so far.
