Liszt Ferenc air cargo volume jumps 11.3% in H1

Air freight volume at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport was up by 11.3% in the first half of the year compared to the corresponding period of 2015, operator Budapest Airport said in a press release issued last Friday.

The restart of Qatar Airways Cargo’s regular flight to Budapest in March contributed to the increase in volume, the operator noted. Budapest Airport stressed that long-haul passenger flights also boost cargo volume. For example, Air China’s Beijing-Budapest flight returns with a full cargo hold, which can total 10–12 tons, the press statement added.
