ULT Magyarország revenue reaches HUF 6.7 bln last year

Universal Leaf Tobacco (ULT) Magyarország’s revenue edged up to net HUF 6.7 bln last year from the previous year’s HUF 6.5 bln, CEO Imre Bittner told Hungarian news agency MTI today.
ULT Magyarország has so far signed contracts to buy tobacco from more than 3,700 hectares of farmland this year, Bittner said, adding that the company expects to wind up the contract signing this week.
The company bought tobacco grown on about 4,000 hectares last year, MTI’s report said. According to the news agency, ULT Magyarország is paying HUF 520 per kilogram of Virginia tobacco and HUF 420 for a kilogram of Burley tobacco this year.
