Trade deficit €245 mln in March

Hungary's trade deficit was €245 million in March, €122 million more than in same month a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Friday.
The trade deficit of €654 million in Q1 2006 was €142 million more than in the first quarter of 2005. In its preliminary report on May 10, KSH estimated the March trade deficit was €266 million and put the January-March deficit at €676 million.
Hungary's export in March amounted to €5.02 billion, up 20.7% from February and 21% more than a year earlier. Imports rose 19.4% from the preceding month and 23.3% from March 2005. Three-month exports were €13.301 billion, up 18.8% year on year, and imports rose 19.2% to €13.955 billion.
