Melecs EWS winds up HUF 400 mln investment in Győr

Austrian-owned electronic equipment manufacturer Melecs EWS invested HUF 400 million at its base in Győr to expand its production hall, executive plant manager at the base Szilveszter Tóvizi said yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

The size of the base has been expanded by 1,500 sqm and annual production is expected to increase by at least 30%, Tóvizi said, according to MTI. The company up till now had an annual capacity of 15 million pieces.
Bernhard Pulferer, vice-president and co-owner of the parent company of the Hungarian subsidiary of Melecs, said that employee numbers at the plant will grow from 370 to 520 within two years, MTI added.
