Malév teams with British Airways

Hungarian airline Malév has taken another step to become a full member of the air alliance Oneworld, by having signed a code-shareing agreement with British Airways (BA) on Sunday.

As a result of the complex commercial agreement, the air companies will jointly sell 2 Malév and 3 BA flights a day, effective November 1. In order for Malév to become a full member of Oneworld, it has to sign this agreement with all 8 members of the alliance. So far, it had agreed with the Finnish and the Spanish air companies. There are no such expectations which Malév could not meet by the beginning of next year, CEO János Gönci explained. With the accession to Oneworld, occupancy of the Malév airplanes would increase by 8-9% in two years.
