KSH: Hungary’s retail sales up 4%

The volume of retail sales in Hungary saw a year-on-year rise of 4% according to raw data from October, while the retail sales volume rose by 4.5% adjusted for calendar effects, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported today.

KSH data shows that the volume of sales in October rose by 2% in food, drinks and tobacco stores, by 7.8% in non-food retail trade and by 3.4% in automotive fuel retailing, adjusted for calendar effects, as compared to the corresponding period a year earlier.
In the period of January-October, the volume of sales – also according to calendar adjusted data – was 5.8% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year, KSH said.
