Indian flavors to star at 8th Food Truck Show
The eight edition of the Food Truck Show will run from Friday to Sunday this week at Budapestʼs Kincsem Park horse racing track, with exhibitors offering food ranging from Hungarian classics to hamburgers, and with Indian dishes in the spotlight.
Healthy options will also be available this year, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.
"A varied diet and good choices are important," says nutritionist Dorina Barna, arguing that street food does not equal junk food. "In most food truck menus, things such as grilled meat, whole wheat buns, extra vegetables or salad as a side can be found. We can choose vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free street food options, as well as sugar-free ice cream as dessert."
"Every member goes through a kind of quality check, and many use their own suppliers and small producers," notes Zoltán Vad-Horváth, president of the Hungarian Street Food Association. "We are also motivating caterers to innovate, therefore we came up with the idea to make them compete with Indian dishes at this fallʼs Food Truck Show. The professionʼs best look after the demands of the guests, and therefore renew their selection from time to time."
