Hungary: United farm subsidy plan by 2009
The united farm subsidy scheme (SPS) will be introduced in 2009, chairman of the Agricultural and Rural Development Office Miklós Margittai said.
As the two major tasks before the launch of SPS Margittai highlighted the definition and registration of who is entitled to the subsidy as well as the execution of cross compliance rules, that is the combination of environment protection, food safety and animal welfare requirements. This year, definition of the scope of eligible farmers will be handled as priority, then later this system can be further developed, Margittai said. (Napi Gazdaság)
