Hungary’s retail sales grow 2.6% in October

The volume of sales in retail stores in Hungary was up 2.6% in October, according to both raw and calendar-adjusted data, compared to the same month last year, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) said today in a first reading of data.
The volume of sales, adjusted for calendar effects, rose by 1.5% in specialized and non-specialized food shops, by 4.6% in non-food retail shops, and by 1.2% in automotive fuel retail, the KSH said.
In the January-October period, the volume of sales – also according to calendar-adjusted data – was 4.7% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year, the KSH added.
