Hungary has foreign trade deficit of €239 mln in July – preliminary

Hungary posted a €239 million trade deficit in July, compared to a deficit of €115 million in July 2007, preliminary figures published by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Monday show.

The deficit is the first one after five months surplus in a row. Hungary’s seven-month trade surplus was preliminary €227 million as against a deficit of €281 million in January-July, 2007.

July exports rose 8.2% in twelve months to €6.113 billion, and imports increased 10.2% to €6.351 billion.

Six-month exports rose 12.5% to €43.838 billion and imports were up 11.1% at €43.611 billion. (MTI-Econews)
