Hungary clears way for WFP service center

A government resolution published in the latest issue of official gazette Magyar Közlöny has cleared Hungaryʼs application for the establishment of a World Food Program (WFP) service center in Budapest, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.

Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is expected to submit the application for the center by February 15, according to MTI. If the application is successful, the economy minister will organize the necessary fiscal support for the centerʼs operation from 2017, MTI added.
The World Food Program, a food assistance branch of the United Nations, is the world’s largest largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security, the body’s mission statement says.
