Hungarians plan to spend almost HUF 35,000 on holiday presents - survey

Hungarian internet users plan to spend an average HUF 34,800 on holiday presents this year, HUF 1,000 more than a year earlier, according to an online survey by arukereso.hu based on interviews with 2,500 people.

About one-third of those surveyed said they plan to spend at most HUF 20,000 on presents.

About 69% of those surveyed said they plan to purchase Christmas presents on the internet, and 85% of interviewees said they look for information on the internet before making purchases.

The most popular gifts this year are clothes, followed by consumer electronics, books and cosmetics.
