Half of Russians would work for Gazprom
A poll found state-owned natural gas giant Gazprom the most desirable workplace in Russia, ahead of the country's main crude producers and the electricity monopoly.
State-controlled oil giant Rosneft and Russia's largest independent crude producer LUKoil came equal second in the poll, with 23% of votes each, and only 15% of respondents said they would want to work for electricity monopoly Unified Energy System. Respondents said the country's two largest banks, Sberbank and VTB, both state-controlled, offered the best career opportunities in the banking sector (22% and 13%, respectively).
Russia's insurance companies and food producers, as well as steelmaker Evraz Holding and aluminum giant RusAL are the least popular major companies among Russian citizens, according to the survey.
The statistical margin of error of the poll conducted on November 24-25 was not more than 3.4%. The pollster questioned 1,600 people in 46 regions. (rian.ru)
