Czech Republic supports Moldova’s EU entry

The Czech Republic supports Moldova’s European Union (EU) entry, even though this is not yet topical, Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg said after meeting with his Moldovan counterpart Andrei Stratan on Wednesday.
Negotiations between the EU and Moldova are only in the stage of preparations, Schwarzenberg said, adding that he hoped Moldova’s EU entry would once be topical. Stratan said Moldova pursues an independent course in European integration.
The same day, the two ministers also signed an agreement on partnership in European integration. Moldova is one of the Czech foreign aid’s recipients. Last year, the Czech Republic sent development aid worth 3.5 billion crowns ($1 equals 19,106 crowns) to Moldova, which was 200 million more than planned. (people.com.cn)
