According to certain estimates, Ft 20-30 billion is the value of the Hungarian organic food products market, 15-20% of which serves the demand in Hungary.

Despite the fact that organic or biological produces are 50-70% more expensive in Hungary than the regular products, and, in certain cases, the price may even be double or triple, the organic market is continuously expanding. 95% of the farmers and produces are checked and controlled by Biokontroll Hungaria Kft, which ensures not only the fact that the end product is free of any chemicals, but it also keeps track that the entire biological production process throughout the growing and the production. In the Drogerie Markt, despite the average price being 15-20 more expensive than the regular product, the turnover of organic product is increasing by 15% every year. (Világgazdaság)
