Agip to open four new petrol stations in Hungary this year, more in 2007

Italian fuel retailer Agip will open four new petrol stations in western Hungary this year and will expand in the east of the country next year, the company said on Thursday.

Agip bought three petrol stations in the western part of the country in summer at an average investment of Ft 350 million, and will open one more this autumn. The latter is a franchise member.
The company expects to sell an annual 3-4 million liters of fuel at each station. According to its own figures, Agip has a 6%-7% share of Hungary's retail fuel market, selling more than 3 billion liters of fuel a year. The company also controls 10% of the lubricants market and almost 10% of the wholesale fuel market.
According to the Central Statistics Office (KSH), there were 2,162 petrol stations operating in Hungary at the end of March.
