Budapest Metropolitan University welcomes new CEO
Johan Stromsater from Sweden has been appointed CEO of Budapest Metropolitan University (METU), an accredited private institute of higher education in the Hungarian capital, saying that he aims to support the university in further growth, according to a press statement sent to the Budapest Business Journal. Stromsater took up the position on November 14.
The professional with more than 25 years of experience in higher education formerly worked as vice-president of Laureate Group.
“I am seeing great opportunities in this institution,” the newly appointed CEO said about METU, projecting that the university will soon become a significant player in the education sector in the CEE.
“Budapest – with its rich history, colorful socio-cultural life, architectural beauty and, last but not least, excellent food and wine – is a very attractive city not only for foreign students, but for me at the same time,” the CEO said. Stromsater added that he is committed to traveling around Hungary to learn about the Hungarian people, as well as to learn to speak Hungarian. “It will be a challenge, I know it is a very difficult language,” he said.
