First Emirates Boeing 777 lands in Budapest

The first Boeing 777 of Dubai-based Emirates airline arrived at Hungary’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport today, to replace as of December 1, the Airbus A330-200 aircraft installed on the Budapest-Dubai route, according to an announcement issued today.
With this touchdown, Emirates has become the first airline in Hungary to operate B777 aircraft, the announcement noted.
In the first year of operation, Emirates’ Budapest-Dubai route has seen more than 150,000 passengers, and is performing well above the airlineʼs expectations, with 80% occupation rate on average on flights in the first 12 months.
“I am very happy with the success of the Dubai-Budapest route, and the high number of passengers on the flight made it possible to make a significant step forward in the Hungarian market, following the first year of operation,” Thierry Aucoc, Senior Vice President CO Europe at Emirates, said.
