Waterdeep to open Ft 3 bln bottling plant in October
Hungarian mineral water bottler Waterdeep Kft plans to complete a Ft 3 billion plant at an old Soviet army barracks in Sárbogárd, south of Budapest, in October and put its up-market Imola mineral water brand on shelves in Hungary and abroad by November, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported on Thursday.
The 21,000-square-meter plant will be outfitted with bottling equipment from Germany, Waterdeep's owner Imre Bereczk told the paper. The plastic bottles for the water and even the wood pallets will also be made on site, and Bereczk's printing plant at the former barracks will produce the labels for the bottles.
Waterdeep expects to employ 175 people by year-end, but this number could double later on. The company is paying for the investment with its own sources, loans and grants.
Bereczk said he had recently bought a smaller mineral water bottler in Attala, southwest Hungary, where he also plans to make developments.
