OTP buys 44,000 own shares

OTP Bank purchased 43,963 OTP ordinary shares on Wednesday - in line with a decision of the April 29 general meeting - at an average price of HUF 3,595 per share on the Budapest Stock Exchange, the bank said on Thursday.

The bank held 4,395,026 treasury shares after the transaction, including 2,073,560 treasury shares held by members of the OTP group other than the parent company as of August 31, 2011.

Treasury shares account for just 1.57% of the bank's registered capital.

OTP also purchased 100,000 OTP shares on Tuesday at an average price of HUF 3,646 per share.
