MasterCard launches new mobile payment system in Hungary

MasterCard on Tuesday said it is launching a new mobile payment system in Hungary that cardholders may use regardless of their mobile telecommunications service provider or bank.

MasterCard's partners in the launch are Telenor, Magyar Telekom, FHB Group and mobile payment systems maker Cellum.

The payment system works through an application that can be downloaded to smartphones.
