Industrial producer prices up 9.5% yr/yr in July
Hungary's industrial producer prices in July were up 1.2% from June and rose 9.5% year-on-year, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Wednesday. The monthly increase dropped from 2.4% in June but twelve-month growth rose from 5.3% in May and 7.9% in June.
Producer prices for domestic sale were up 1.1% from June and increased 8.7% year-on-year. Producer prices for industrial export in forint terms rose 1.3% from June and increased 10.1% year-on-year in July.
The forint's weakening was a main factor in the sharp monthly increase in forint-term export prices, the KSH said. The forint weakened 2.1% to the euro and 1.8% to the US dollar in July from June. Compared to July 2005, the forint weakened 12.6% to the euro and 7% to the dollar.
