Hungary mobile phone subscriptions fall to 11.676m in August

The number of mobile phone subscriptions in Hungary fell almost 26,000 to 11.676m in August, the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) said on Friday.

The number of active mobile phone subscriptions -- numbers that were called or from which calls were made in the previous three months -- rose 10,000 from the previous month to 10.994m in August.

Market penetration inched down to 117.1 per hundred people in August.

T-Mobile's market share based on the total number of subscriptions rose to 44.71% from 44.52%, Vodafone's increased to 22.73% from 22.66%, while Telenor's fell to 32.56% from 32.82%.

Based on subscriptions generating turnover, Vodafone's market share fell to 22.66% from 22.68%, Telenor's dropped to 32.10% from 32.20%, while T-Mobile's rose to 45.23% from 45.12%.
