Government overspending on housing

With the bulk of the applications set to come in the second half of the year, the government is once again on a course that will take it over its 2006 target of Ft 216 billion, daily Napi Gazdaság said, citing preliminary figures. According to the latest figures, the government disbursed a total Ft 77.7 billion in state housing subsidies in the first five months of the year, while the total value of allocations in Jan-June exceeded that of last year when the government missed its annual target by 8%, the paper said.
