Budapest has been added to the shortlist of the Interrail European Destination of 2016 award, putting it into the top ten most attractive cities in Europe, according to a press release issued yesterday by Budapest Festival and Tourism Center Nonprofit Ltd. (BFTK).

The tender material for the contest was assembled0 by BFTK. The tender was called by Eurail Group, which was established in 2001 with the aim of managing the marketing of Eurail passes. Eurail and Interrail passes are considered the number one passes in Europe, BFTK said in the press release.

The Hungarian tender is called “Bridge to Experiences” and focuses on the bridges that connect Budapest’s Buda and Pest sides, BFTK noted.

The winner will be selected by votes collected online on the Interrailʼs Facebook page. Those who vote will enter a raffle to win two Interrail passes. Voting closes on July 6.
