Hungary’s largest musical event, the Sziget Festival, has just confirmed its lineup for the World Music Stage, according to a statement issued by Sziget’s press office today.

The week-long festival runs from August 10-17 this year and one of its more popular off-beat stages will open with a performance by Spanish songstress Buika, followed during the week by Serbian party band Goran Bregovic and his Wedding and Funeral Band, Russian ska band Leningrad, and Algerian-French singer Rachid Taha.

The World Music Stage will host over two dozen acts throughout the festivalʼs run from early afternoon until late in the evening at which point DJs take over.

Held every August since 1993, the Sziget Festival attracts upwards of 400,000 festival goers each year and is part of a series of events put on by the organizers including Balaton Sound, Volt Festival and the Gourmet Festival.
