’Hope for Europe’ lecture at CEU

The Central European University (CEU) will host a lecture by Dutch MEP Marietje Schaake entitled "Hope for Europe," as part of the "Reasons for Hope" Presidential Lecture Series, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

The event will run between 6 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. on January 31 in Auditorium A (Budapest 1051, Nádor utca 15). Welcome remarks will be delivered by CEUʼs president and rector Michael Ignatieff.

“The EU has a strong leadership position when it comes to the rule of law and multilateralism. The need to advance these principles but also human rights and democracy in the online world is now urgent, and Europe should lead in developing a systematic approach with partners globally,” the event’s summarizing description says.
