European investigative journalists gather in Budapest

Two regional groups are hosting a conference for investigative journalists in Eastern and Southeastern Europe, scheduled for November 9 to 11 in Budapest, Hungary. Registration deadline: October 1.

The Balkan Investigative Reporters Network (BIRN) and Scoop, a support group for investigative reporters in the region, or organizing the event. There is no fee to attend, but participants must arrange for their own travel and lodging. A special hotel rate of €45 ($63) per night has been arranged for participants. Besides sharing experiences with colleagues, courses in basic and advanced computer-assisted reporting will be available. Lectures and courses will be presented in English and Russian with simultaneous translations available.
