Conference numbers on the rise

The number of conferences hosted in Hungary climbed by 10.7% reaching 1,197 in H1 year-on-year, state tourism agency Magyar Turizmus reported in its newsletter today. The number includes 476 international and 721 domestic conferences.

Approximately 190,000 people participated in the conferences, with international conferences hosting an average of 166 participants and Hungarian conferences hosting an average 151 participants.

A total of 72% of the events were located Budapest, with more than 80% of the international conferences being held in the capital.
