Szerencsejáték dishes out HUF 50 bln in winnings in Jan-June

State lottery company Szerencsejáték had revenue of HUF 88 billion in the first half of the year, of which it paid out HUF 50.2 billion in winnings, the company said late Thursday.

Szerencsejáték paid HUF 24.62 billion into the central budget in H1, including HUF 14.52 billion in gambling tax and HUF 4.54 billion in personal income tax on the winnings.

Szerencsejáték had full-year revenue of HUF 169 billion in 2010, up from HUF 154.3 billion in 2009. Profits climbed to HUF 5.59 billion from HUF 5.1 billion.

The company paid out gross winnings of HUF 95.5 billion last year.

It paid HUF 61.6 billion into the central budget, including HUF 29.3 billion in gambling tax, HUF 13.9 billion in personal income tax on the winnings, HUF 13.5 billion in other taxes and contributions and a HUF 5 billion dividend.
