The Budapest Stock Exchange blue-chip BUX index opened Friday trade down 4.6% at 19,138, beginning trade below the 20,000-point plateau for the first time since November 27, 2009.

The four blue chips stood as follows at Friday’s opening bell:

OTP Bank was down 6.9% at HUF 4,350.

Oil and gas group MOL was down 6.2% at HUF 17,550.

Magyar Telekom was down 2.22% at HUF 528;

Drugmaker Richter was down 1.7% at HUF 36,495.

On Thursday, the BUX closed down 2.2% to 20,067 on a turnover of HUF 23.87 billion.
